Prior to litigation the insurance company only offered $3,000, citing what they believed to be significant fault on the part of our client. Even during mediation conducted after fact depositions the insurer refused to offer more than $100,000 to resolve the case. However, after we refused their lowball offer and showed that we were ready to take the case to trial we were eventually able to push the defense to a $750,000 settlement.
